Nongpoh, Meghalaya, May 7 (HBTV): Errors in two question paper sets of the National Testing Agency (NTA) for the National Eligibility and Entrance Test [NEET (UG) 2024, which was conducted on Sunday, May 5, in Meghalaya, have been reported.

Students are in uproar after learning that they had written what has been claimed to be the wrong paper set supplied by the Examination Code Centre. The incident was reported to have occurred at the code centre identified by the NTA as Alpha English Higher Secondary School in Nongpoh of Ri Bhoi district.

According to students there were two sets of question papers i.e., State Bank of India, and Canara Bank. They said to have sat for the entrance examination of the medical entrance. They received the two sets of question papers and had begun to write the answers. After about one and a half hours, they were told by an invigilator that one question paper set was the wrong set.

Due to time constraints, the students added, they could not attempt all the questions, which had total marks of 720 and that they had attempted the wrong question paper set.

Aggrieved parents of the students rushed to the code examination centre seeking consideration for the students to rewrite the question papers as the error was the fault of the examination centre.

Speaking to the media, WK Blah, a Code Examination Centre representative, said the two question paper sets from the State Bank of India and the Canara bank had also confused the centre’s authorities. The authorities tried to get in touch with the NTA but in vain, it was informed.

On May 5, when the examination started she managed to contact an official, Director Vijay Kumar, about one of the question paper sets.

According to updates at press time, the parents were believed to have been asked to write a memorandum to the RTA authority at New Delhi seeking consideration for Ri Bhoi students to rewrite the same examination.
